“Success is not measured by what you accomplish but by the opposition you have encountered, and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds.”
~Orison Swett Marden~
In my youth I worked out with weights & trained alongside competitive bodybuilders. I loved it! I was determined to enter a natural fitness competition. Instead I ended up bedridden with a chronic illness in my 20′s. I hated giving up lifting. I missed curling barbells…pressing a stack of plates.. working out with a partner…feeling strong...Over the years I tried to return to weight training-but was repeatedly defeated by exhaustion. I often wondered if any bodybuilders/fitness athletes dealt with extreme fatigue (and immune disorder illness) yet still maintained a training program & competed. Today I discovered 42 year old Lisa Eveleth. She has overcome decades of health challenges to place in fitness competitions! Her story of achievement has inspired me to pick up the weights again (& build those abs/biceps) that I have long craved!
