Dressed to Burn

Handmade featherless silk boa- To place a custom  order contact lisa @ lisabbyrne@hotmail.com

I have some friends attending the Burn.

You know, that yearly gathering at Black Rock City! They (and 60,000 other folks) all need amazing, playa worthy garb… such as this 7 foot long, featherless silk boa, woven entirely from recycled & vintage silk scraps.

Im excited to provide some….

Several bustle skirts are complete. Now I need fabric to create matching boas! Each requires 4-5 lbs of lightweight silk, as well as bits of used lace & velvet. That means 25-35 lbs of fabric to buy/collect in the next 2 months!

Silk fabric can be vintage, new, used or recycled. It can be in the form of clothing, saris, scarves, new/used yardage or bulk scraps. It can be imperfect, torn, outdated, garment industry cast offs, or remnants. Most colors & size pieces will work!

Do you:

  • Want to share your resources/contacts in the industry to help me source fabric ?
  • Have fabric you’d like to donate/or want me to buy from you? then send me photos!
  • Want to custom order one of these amazing featherless boas (or a matching silk bustle)  of your own now? (or see what I have already made?)

Please email lisabbyrne@hotmail.com

Thanks and have a fabulous day!
