Typical day with pain.
Life narrows some. Its all about getting rest. And dealing with symptoms. Getting to and from medical appointments. The feeling of exhaustion. Medication side effects. Which all feels like a 80 hour/week job, that I can’t quit and don’t get paid for.
I push forward as much as I can, lusting for a time when I felt more well, and before pain pervaded everyhing.
I take no activity for granted. Even basics like bathing, getting dressed, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, or having sex-are accomplished only with great effort. Often they do not get completed at all.
Except for the act of taking photos. I try to make them daily. The first daffodil popped open in my yard this week. I’m anticipating the joy of photographing flowers using old vintage lenses (sharp glass, wide F-stop!) for the first time on my Digital SLR this spring.
Right now, it’s the one thing I can count on.
